6-6-13 Today we took the green shuttle bus to Savage River - ~15 miles from the campground. The skies were fairly clear and temp in the 60’s today….. a great day for a walk!
Just a few wild flowers blooming – spring is late!
Just 2 weeks ago, the Savage River was wild with snow melt.
Denali is hiding in the clouds today
The buses will stop for photo-ops of animals…Here’s a moose and look closely she has two babies – but all I got were but shots
Steve & Lila Dudley and 2 granddaughters, and Fred & Lynn Persky arrived today. It was Cabin Night for dinner of salmon and/or ribs along with entertainment sharing the history of Alaska.
And what a neat surprise to see a rainbow after the show!
Tomorrow we take the RV 29 miles into the Teklanika Campground for 5 nights. Doubt we’ll have phone service to send pictures until we leave. Though we have seen Denali from Anchorage, Fairbanks and the North & South viewpoints with clear blue skies, we haven’t seen Denali from within the park yet. Hopefully this week.

Bill and I are in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana and I think there is more snow in the mountains here. Love reading your adventures.
