7-5-2013 --- The clouds and rain continue in Seward. Enjoyed the fireworks at midnight on July 3.
We had a great view of Mt Marathon from our RV site
We volunteered to help with the 4th of July Mt Marathon Race – in the drizzle – continues cloudy – cool 54 degrees. Don’t we look official! After the kids and women’s race, we directed traffic at 3rd & Jefferson. We may not have climbed the mtn, but our legs were sure tired at the end of the day!
Check the websites for more pictures - https://www.google.com/search?q=mt+marathon+race&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=CmnXUYKhIJLJ0gGX4oDICQ&sqi=2&ved=0CFAQsAQ&biw=1600&bih=743 Here come the Women – Christy Marvin wins at 53 min 20 sec.
There go the men ….. with Eric Strabel breaking the record at 42 min 55 sec --- that is 32:19 uphill time and 10:36 downhill time! Followed by Ricky Gates 43 min 4 sec also beating the record time. WOW
What determination! What endurance! What an accomplishment!
It was fun to see the race, participate as a volunteer and then to put up our feet and relax. Rolling on to Soldotna.

That fireworks picture is beautiful! Almost looks like a plant with a beautiful bloom! Cute photo with you two in "official costume" for the race!
Looks like you are having too much fun!
